WHO WE ARE
Central Christian Church has been part of the Springfield community for generations, offering a place where faith, worship, and service come together in meaningful and lasting ways.
We are a historic congregation rooted in the beauty of traditional Christian worship—where sacred music, scripture, and prayer create a space for reflection, reverence, and connection with God.
Each week, our worship is shaped by inspiring music, thoughtful preaching, and a message grounded in scripture that speaks to the realities of life today with hope and encouragement.
But our life as a church extends far beyond Sunday morning.
We believe faith is meant to be lived out in the world. That’s why Central Christian Church is deeply committed to serving our neighbors and strengthening the Springfield community. Through partnerships, outreach efforts, and acts of compassion, we seek to embody Christ’s love in tangible ways—meeting needs, building relationships, and making a difference where we are.
At the same time, we remain a place where people can gather, belong, and grow.
We value a thoughtful, open approach to faith. As part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we are a non-creedal church, which means we do not require strict statements of belief as a test of belonging. Instead, we center our faith on following Jesus Christ, engaging scripture, and growing together in understanding. In our church, you will discover that:
We practice open communion and affirm that God’s love is for all people. No matter your background, identity, beliefs, doubts, or questions, you are welcome at the table and in this community.
Here, you will find a place where you can explore faith honestly, participate fully, and grow at your own pace—without pressure to have everything figured out.
If you are searching for a church home, returning after time away, or simply curious about faith, we invite you to join us.
At Central Christian Church, you will find:
