Worship and Wonder is a way for Children to Worship at a level that is developmentally appropriate and spiritually nurturing. While parents are having their worship, children ages k to 6th grade are invited to attend Worship and Wonder. The children are broken into two classes K-2nd grade and 3rd – 6th grade.
To begin, the children come into a special worship space, they sit in a circle, surrounded by bible stories made just for them. This special coming together of the children follows the first order of worship which is the gathering of God’s people to hear God’s word.
As they hear the stories told, they are invited into a time of wonder, exploring the story with their imaginations. Then the children have a chance to respond to the word in a myriad of ways as well. Some of the was include telling their own story or the story they just heard, praying or making a picture about how they understood the stories. Then they have a little feast, a communion just for them.
